From Sea to Shining Sea: Colorado
June 26, 2007Many Homes In This Great Land!
Many places… many homes… many friends… many jobs… many opportunities… many travels… all in just this span of one life.
I’ve lived in the Eastern United States… lived in the Western United States… lived in the Northern United States… and lived in the Southern United States. Now, I live in the Central United States. Where to go from here?
Never had to ask permission when I chose to travel … or where I wanted to go. Never filled out official applications, never awaited bureaucratic approvals, never met objections, never feared to speak my mind, never bowed down to stupidity, never lived without some friends!
Found a sweetheart, married her for our life. Joined with her in procreation, brought five wonderful children to their new life. Watched them grow and develop, cheered them on as they found their way. Now I watch them fulfill their destinies, not regretting … how I’ve spent my days.
I am Dan’s dad.
Perhaps I speak now of Freedoms! Nowhere on this planet … Freedoms greater than in America. Truly the land that I love! Dan loved this great America, and so do I!
Liberty to travel across this wonderful country. I’ve seen – and shivered – in the dark cold of Winters on Eastern Shores – and basked in the warmth and beauties of Summers on Western Shores. And now I’ve time to rest in Colorado where to peacefully ponder the streams of lives as they course their way from Border to Border and Sea to Shining Sea!
And now – dear friend – I see the best in you!
